Treating Aortic Stents with Endovascular Aneurysm Repair(breadcrumbs are unavailable)

< Back to Thoracic Aneurysm

Here, a dissection (split within the inner lining of the aorta, allowing blood to create a false channel in the wall of the aorta) or “dissecting aortic aneurysm” is treated. A stent graft is released from a catheter that has been passed up from a leg artery. This seals over the split. Blood is channeled away from the dissecting aneurysm, curing it without open surgery.
